Going to prom is a milestone moment, and many girls obsess over and dream about what dress they’re going to wear for that special evening.

How would you feel if your sister wrecked your prom dress that you saved up to buy before you even got to wear it yourself?

This 17-year-old girl has a 15-year-old sister named Bella, and Bella is a spoiled brat. Bella gets anything and everything her heart desires, which is upsetting for her to have to watch.

If Bella gets great grades, their parents buy her a new iPhone. If Bella fails one of her tests, their parents make excuses and say her stress must be getting to her, so they should buy her ice cream.

Her parents treat her like trash in contrast to Bella, and she has to work a part-time job at a cafe in order to have money to buy what she wants.

Soon, she will be attending her senior prom, and she’s spent the last three to four months saving up all of her tip money to purchase a beautiful, vintage silk dress she found online.

“It cost 250 bucks (and a whole lotta nerves). It arrived last week, and it was literally perfect. Having admired it, I put it into my closet so that Bella wouldn’t get her chubby little fingers on it,” she explained.

“Yesterday I came home from school and saw Bella in the kitchen, wearing MY DRESS. She was making a stupid TikTok, the concept of which I actually never understood. Like, what’s the benefit?  [You’re] basically being a clown in a digital circus. Whatever.”

“So, there she was, dressed in my prom dress, which I worked my [backside] off for, holding a milkshake in her hands or some purple juice. Wasn’t my main focus at the moment. Before I could even scream, she spun around, tripped, and spilled the entire glass of that purple juice all over the front of MY silk dress.”

She started screaming and sobbing when it hit her that Bella destroyed her prom dress. Their mom came rushing because of the commotion, and she didn’t yell at Bella for being careless.

Instead, their mom snapped at her to calm herself down because Bella was just attempting to look gorgeous. Their mom even tried to argue that Bella was remorseful, which was a lie.

Bella only felt sorry that her TikTok video was wrecked, and she teared up while staring at her phone. She informed their parents that Bella is no longer invited to her birthday dinner happening this weekend.

They were supposed to go to an upscale sushi restaurant decorated like a Japanese garden with neon lights. She told their parents she didn’t want to have to sit at her birthday dinner and look at Bella.

She added that Bella owes her $250 for the dress and a therapy session. After all, she spent months saving up her money for that prom dress.

“My dad stepped in and said that I am actually being the brat and that I was very vindictive and that this type of behavior is not appreciated in this family (yeah, but taking other people’s clothes w/o their consent and ruining them is, [I guess]) and that I can’t exclude my sister from [the] family [because] of some cloth,” she continued.

“They said if Bella can’t come, they aren’t paying for the dinner at all. I told them to cancel the dinner then [because] it wasn’t just fabric to me. It was hours of hard work, sweat, and burnt-out nerves.”

“The worst thing is that Bella hasn’t even considered apologizing. She just gives me a disgusted, smug look like I’m the one who ruined her dress over a stupid…TikTok. So, yeah. It is what it is. At least I’ve got my dignity, right?”

It’s so sad and heartbreaking to me that their parents treat her and Bella in severely opposite ways. Clearly, Bella is the golden child while she’s the black sheep, and that’s never going to change at her age.

The best thing she can do is graduate from high school, save up her money, and move out. I would also cut contact with the family after that, because not a single person cares about her.
