Mike (@mike_904_ on TikTok) is at an impasse with his girlfriend, and he’s afraid this is a sign that their relationship is coming to an end.

Mike’s girlfriend moved in with him, but prior to that, she lived in a neighborhood with her son that had an HOA. Mike’s girlfriend got tons of letters in the mail stating she had fines and violations, because her yard was terribly overgrown.

She is a single mom and didn’t have time to clean up her place, so three or four months into dating her, Mike started spending his weekends working his backside off on getting her property under control.

Mike was trying his hardest to make sure that his girlfriend would no longer get fined by her HOA. There were weeds, overgrown bushes, and many other things Mike had to wrangle out there in the yard.

“One weekend, I was like, ‘Hey, you’ve got that teenage son, he’s 17 years old, I’m out here every single weekend, eight hours a day getting sunburned, sweating, trying to improve your house, can he come out and just give me a hand one day?’ She’s like, ‘Yeah, yeah, sure he can come out and give you a hand,'” Mike explained in his video.

“So I was like, ‘Great, I really appreciate it, ’cause today I have some stuff to lift up and it’s kind of heavy.’ After all, I’m at her house, helping her and her son.”

His girlfriend’s son came out to assist him as his girlfriend promised, but he spent the whole time on his phone instead of actually helping Mike. Then, he vanished inside to watch TV.

Mike went in there and asked his girlfriend’s son to come back outside while reminding him he was trying to save his mom money with the HOA fines.

Mike’s girlfriend got offended and told Mike he wasn’t her son’s dad, so he couldn’t make him turn off the TV. Mike responded that she had said her son would help.

Later on, Mike got irritated about how he was bending over backwards for his girlfriend and her son, when all they did was sit inside and allow him to toil away.

Then, Mike was in his girlfriend’s bedroom with her, having a private conversation, when he pretty much went on a rant about her son, and who can blame him?

“I just started telling her, ‘Look, this is wrong, and your son is really lazy. He didn’t help me at all today, and when he was sitting there watching TV on the couch, that was inappropriate, and you know you’re babying him all the time, and this isn’t how I do stuff, and I feel like you guys did me wrong,'” Mike added.

Little did Mike know, his girlfriend was recording him on her phone. Mike noticed and asked if she was making a video about him, but his girlfriend said she wasn’t.

“Well, she was making a video of me, and I’ve seen the video. And even on the video, I’m asking her if she was recording me, and this was a private conversation between [her and me], in her bedroom, and I’m complaining about her son,” Mike said.

“I come to find out, she sent that video to her adult daughter. She has a 30-year-old daughter who lives in town too. And then that girl showed her cousin; this video went around the whole family. I was secretly recorded, complaining about her son, and the video’s gone around to the whole family.”

“I don’t think you should be able to secretly record your partner. I think that’s wrong.”

Mike is having a tough time trusting his girlfriend after this, and he’s curious if you think what she did crossed a line.

It feels invasive and illegal to record a private conversation in bed with someone. #genx #relationships #singlemom #relationshipgoals #mom
