If you survived cancer, only to find out that your spouse was hoping it would kill you so they could be with an old love, what would you do?
This woman has spent the last 11 years with her husband, and they have two gorgeous kids together. All along, she was under the impression that her husband was her soulmate and that he felt the same way about her.
There was nothing in the world that could ever tear them apart. Then, she got diagnosed with cancer, and her husband helped her through the worst moments of her life.
He reassured her that they would overcome that battle, and slowly but surely, she did end up surviving.
“However, I recently learned that after all this time, he was praying for the cancer to spread far enough to kill me. I discovered this all on my own after I found out that he had a spare phone hidden under our bed when I was changing the sheets,” she explained.
“It was an older keypad model; it didn’t even have the capability to install apps, I think. Something felt off, so I took it with me before confronting him. When I asked him about it, he denied that it was his, even though he’d rushed upstairs looking for it.”
“So I took the kids, went to my sister’s house (we’re in the same neighborhood), and started reading the text messages. The only number ever saved was a name of a fling he had before we got together (this woman went to the same high school as us).”
Five years into their marriage, her husband reconnected with his former flame and never quit speaking to her, even though this woman has also been in a committed relationship as well.
She kept going through the texts until she found her husband admitting that he was hoping the cancer would take her, so that he would be free to be with his old love.

Her husband is really not too emotional, but he’s been texting this woman for the last five years, telling her he loves her while wishing her a good morning.
“In one of the texts, he blamed me for wasting a decade of his life. He also said in the texts that he only stuck with me because of our children,” she continued.
She would really like to get a divorce, but the only thing holding her back is how frowned upon this is where she lives. Her husband has since accused her of stealing his phone.
She has no idea how to tell her children about what’s going on.
Yeah, I don’t care how taboo a divorce is in her neck of the woods; she cannot stay married to a man who’s been hoping she will pass away so he’s free to be with another woman.
She needs to tell her husband she’s ready to grant his wish and let him be free of her so he can go do whatever he wants. Her husband is pure evil for wishing death on her.
She should keep copies of those text messages to show her kids so there’s no doubt in anyone’s minds how awful her husband is.
What advice do you have for her?
