On May 27, 1984, eight-year-old Marjorie Christina Luna left her home in Greenacres City, Florida, to buy cat food at the grocery store. She had two cats named Skeeter and Boo Boo.
The store, Greenacres Grocery, later known as Belk’s General Store, was only a few hundred feet away. She was last seen at the store at around 3:00 p.m. She never returned home.
As night fell, her family began searching for her. They hoped that she had simply stopped to visit a friend and lost track of time, but soon enough, it became clear that something terrible had happened.
The police found Marjorie’s turquoise bodysuit in a swampy wooded area near her home. The discovery pointed to the strong possibility of foul play. However, no one could figure out what had happened to her.
Over the course of 40 years, investigators have questioned many suspects, but no arrests were made in connection with Marjorie’s disappearance. Today, she would be 50 years old.
Recently, authorities have been focusing their investigation on a convicted child predator who died in prison a decade ago. Warren Gilbert Williams Jr. is a person of interest in Marjorie’s case. He lived in the area when Marjorie went missing.
In late 2025, investigators also received an anonymous tip from someone who was familiar with Warren. They learned that Warren, who was 46 years old at the time of Marjorie’s disappearance, had been remodeling a residence near Marjorie’s home and the general store.
Apparently, on that day, Warren walked to the store to buy cigarettes and never returned. It turned out that Warren also had a history of abusing children, with convictions in Florida and Alabama.
A week after Marjorie’s disappearance, he installed a concrete pad in his backyard.

Detectives received permission from the current homeowners to search the property. The pad was removed, and the dirt underneath was excavated, but they did not find any human remains.
Warren was serving his prison sentence in Alabama when he died in 2016. There is no evidence to link him to Marjorie’s disappearance, but authorities are not ruling him out. Additionally, they are looking into five other men as potential suspects.
Marjorie’s mother, Jennie Johnson, is battling leukemia, making the search for answers all the more urgent. Ever since her daughter’s disappearance, she has gone to bed every night, wondering what happened to her.
She hopes that a couple took her to raise her as their own rather than harmed. She wants to bring Marjorie home before she passes away.
