For the past six months, TikToker Anna (@annainclouds) has been going through a divorce with a man she had been with for nearly a decade. She hired a divorce lawyer at the end of July because he cheated on her with his biggest fan on Twitch.

“In this lovely state of Virginia, you have to go through a separation process or you can file for divorce,” Anna explained.

“Because we didn’t have any kids, our separation process was going to be six months before we could file for divorce. I was able to file for divorce before the six months because I had proof of adultery.”

She had been trying to help gain a following on Twitch so that he could pursue his dream of becoming a Twitch streamer. Since she had a large following on TikTok, she asked people to go support him.

The girl he cheated on Anna with was a mutual follower of hers on TikTok. They had been following each other for about a year and supported each other’s content creation. This girl was also married, and she became Anna’s now ex-husband’s biggest supporter on Twitch.

“It didn’t really raise any alarm bells for me because I trusted him,” Anna said. “I thought our marriage was solid. I never, ever, ever, ever, ever thought that he was going to cheat on me or stray away from the marriage.”

He moved out toward the end of May, and the girl proceeded to block Anna on social media. But she could still see where her ex was because he never turned off his location tracking after moving out. He stayed at an Airbnb for a month and then moved in with that girl.

Anna presented the evidence to her lawyer. She had a case of adultery and was able to bypass the six-month separation rule that the state of Virginia requires before filing for divorce.

“I also went through the process of hiring a lawyer because he was trying not to pay me for some shared bills, trying to gaslight me into thinking that he was living on his own, and he was struggling, when I knew that he was living with her,” Anna stated.

At the end of the day, he had broken all the vows they had made to each other. For one, they promised to talk about any issues that ever came up in their marriage, but he never did.

Apparently, he was living in a shell of a marriage, but failed to communicate about any of it. Not even his therapist knew that any of this was going on.

Later, he even admitted that they possibly could’ve worked things out and saved their marriage if he had brought it up, which felt like a slap in the face to Anna.

Now, she is picking up the pieces and rebuilding her life. The silver lining in all this is that she’s free to start over on her own terms.
