It always makes me sick to hear about adults who have jobs where they are supposed to be caring for children, yet they use their authority to abuse them.
This woman lives in an area where it’s completely legal to record someone without their knowledge or consent, and it’s lucky that’s the case, because otherwise, she probably never would have found out the truth about her son’s daycare provider.
Now, her son is not the only child in the care of this daycare facility, and one of the other parents must have had a bad feeling about the woman in charge, because that parent slipped an audio recorder into their child’s bag to see what was going on at the facility.
And over the weekend, it came to light that the woman who has been caring for her three-year-old toddler for 21 months in a row, whom she trusted, is a complete monster.
“While she was ‘sweet’ to my face, a recording has revealed the horror of what was actually happening when I wasn’t there. She told my son, ‘Nobody loves you,'” she explained.
“She called him ‘dirt’ and ‘disgusting.’ She told my baby she ‘hoped he choked on his snack’ and threatened to smack his face.”
She’s spent the last few days in a haze, and while she will be calling the licensing board, the authorities, and child services to report this woman, that is hardly going to help make up for the fact that her son has been exposed to such horrific behavior while in daycare.
”The betrayal is physical. I feel sick. I feel guilty. I look at my son, who is now showing trauma responses like running away and biting, and I just want to scream. I sent him there for 21 months. I trusted her,” she added.
She feels heartbroken, and she’s struggling with how to deal with all of this. She keeps replaying the things in her head that the daycare provider said to her son.

She is going to get her son into therapy ASAP, along with herself, and while she knows her resilient little guy will bounce back quickly, it’s going to take her a very long time to get over this.
While it’s terrifying that this happened (and who knows how long it would have continued if not for that parent putting the recording device in their child’s bag), it is not her fault at all, so she can’t blame herself.
She had no clue this was occurring behind closed doors, and as soon as she was informed, she took action to keep her son out of the daycare facility and bring an end to the abuse.
There’s a special place in the underworld for people who prey on innocent children like this daycare provider, and I’m hoping that she will be brought to justice swiftly.
What advice do you have for her?
