Most of our reality is held together by the stories we tell, both to the people we love and the strangers we use as escapism. She recently discovered that there’s a version of her husband that exists only in his own imagination and on a glowing screen half a world away.

When the truth finally came out, she had to decide whether to protect his fiction or burn the script to save someone else from drowning in those lies.

Did she betray her husband by revealing the story he spun to another woman was built on complete lies, or was it a necessary act of justice?

This 44-year-old woman was cleaning out the family car alongside her 12-year-old daughter when her 45-year-old husband walked over to ask her to come inside and talk to him privately.

She stopped what she was doing, and her husband looked like he was about to tell her that someone had passed away. But instead, he confessed to her that he’s spent the last four months tied up in an emotional affair with a 34-year-old woman.

It seems the only reason it didn’t turn physical is that her husband’s affair partner lives on another continent. Her husband has been in her life since she was 16, and they started dating when she was 21.

They got married 17 years ago and have two kids together: a 15-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter.

“In that moment, my world just caved in. My first reaction was that I couldn’t get upset, as our kids could absolutely NOT find out, because I didn’t want them to hate him,” she described.

“I went back outside and carried on cleaning out the car as normal, how I do not know. The reason for telling me with bizarre and urgent timing was that [my husband] had been contacted by her husband, who had found out after she went on a business trip, but left her iPad at home so her toddler (age 2) could watch videos on it.”

“And somehow, [the] toddler managed to find the Discord app, and her [her husband] watched his world coming apart in real time as he observed their conversation while they thought nobody was looking. Her [husband] issued an ultimatum: you tell your wife, or I will.”

Her husband put her in touch with his affair partner’s husband after she asked for that to happen. The husband of her husband’s affair partner sent her a couple of screenshots of their conversations so she could see for herself.

She is actually appreciative that this man read every single word exchanged between them, which spared her from all of the ugly details.

She then looked up her husband’s affair partner on social media and saw the latest post she made, announcing she had broken a nail after returning from her trip.

She replied to the post and quipped she had broken two hearts along with that nail of hers, which promptly got her blocked.

She kept on emailing back and forth with the husband of her husband’s affair partner, and it came to light that her own husband said he was a super sweet guy with an incredible job as the director of an enormous global company.

Her husband went on to tell his affair partner that he’s in great shape and absolutely interested in sleeping with her. But her husband sold this woman a pack of lies, because he can’t get it up and has suffered from ED for a decade, and loves to play video games instead of going to the gym.

“The husband asked, ‘How can I compete with that?’ So I was honest and said that the picture he had painted was pretty far from reality, and explained how both pictures differed,” she said.

“The husband said he felt sorry for me because he felt I had not done anything wrong. I’ve never cheated, I’ve never even been in a compromising position with anyone else where anyone could have accused me of anything. I love our life and thought we were happy, give or take… which is why this hit me completely out of the blue.”

“During relationship counseling after all this happened, my [husband] said how much he was hurt by me being honest with her husband about his real image. I did it because the guy was kicking himself about how he couldn’t measure up to the impossible standard set by my [husband] .”

“I did it to give him a way of setting aside this feeling of inferiority and working on himself and their relationship rather than giving up on everything or trying to measure up to a standard that didn’t exist. I don’t know if they worked it out.”

She’s left wondering if she was wrong to expose her husband’s lies and help save his affair partner’s marriage.

I’m sorry, I’m actually sitting here laughing over her husband being upset with her exposing him as a liar! Where did he get the audacity?

I can’t understand why she wants to stay married to a man who cheated, lied, and is now holding a grudge against her for calling him out.

What a selfish, pathetic man. Her husband is only humiliated since she showed everyone his true colors; he’s not sorry or remorseful for his actions.
