Most people look forward to the drive home from work because that means work is finally done for the day, and they get to go home and relax. But for one woman, a routine trip turned into an unsettling experience that left her scared for her life.

After TikToker @slaywithak finished her shift and left work, she headed to the gas station. On the way there, she noticed a pickup truck following her. It turned out that her patient’s son was trying to follow her home from work.

When she first saw the truck, she realized that it looked like a vehicle that had been parked at her workplace. She turned right, and the truck also turned right.

She decided to make a U-turn to check if the man in the truck was really following her. Sure enough, the truck made a U-turn as well. At that point, she was convinced that the man was intentionally following her.

The police station was about 15 minutes away, so she returned to her workplace instead. She quickly turned into the parking lot and drove into the ambulance bay.

Then, she typed her code into the keypad and ran inside. She immediately went to management and told them that a man was following her.

He soon walked in, pretending like nothing had happened. The manager called the cops, and she recorded everything. When the police asked the man why he was following her, he tried to deny it.

Eventually, he spilled the truth, and the explanation did little to ease her fears.

Apparently, he had found her attractive, and she resembled someone he used to date, so he wanted to get her phone number. Now, @slaywithak refuses to work at this job again.

It was located in the middle of nowhere, and if she had made a wrong turn somewhere, she would have ended up alone on a back road with no one nearby to help. Thankfully, she listened to her instincts and returned to work.

In the comments section, several TikTok users praised her for her quick thinking. Prioritizing safety is never an overreaction.

“I always assume the worst, whether it’s true or not, because I’d rather be safe and wrong than oblivious and hurt,” commented one user.

“There is never any good intention in a man following a woman home without her knowledge or consent,” pointed out another.

“In the future, if anything like this happens again, if you call 911 while driving, they can guide you to the nearest police station. I’m sorry this happened to you,” advised a third.

“I firmly believe that if men act like this, they should be arrested and put in prison for the rest of their lives because what,” added someone else.
