Last month, TikToker Stephanie (@stephanie_y86) was on a family vacation in Florida with her parents, her brother, her sister-in-law, her nephew, and her own family.
They stayed in an Airbnb that had been two homes converted into one. There were bedrooms on both sides of the house, and the living room and everything else was in the middle. Stephanie thinks that a ghost was staying at the house with them.
On the first day, Stephanie was in one of the bedrooms trying to unpack and organize everything when she suddenly got the feeling that she wasn’t alone. She glanced down the hallway to see if anyone was there, but it was empty.
A couple of days later, Stephanie was standing in the kitchen with her mom, talking about mangoes, when she smelled cigarette smoke out of nowhere. The scent was strong, and then it quickly dissipated. Her mom couldn’t smell it at all.
The next thing happened to her dad. One day, he was sitting on the couch alone, reading a book in the living room. There was an air hockey table and a ping pong table in the living room.
Everyone else was outside swimming. All of a sudden, her dad heard the ping pong paddle hit the ball. The ball rolled off the table and bounced on the floor.
Her nephew also had a strange experience. Stephanie and her daughter had just finished showering, and her husband was in the bathroom. Her three-year-old nephew came running down the hall, but he stopped abruptly in his tracks and started screaming and crying.
“None of us knew what happened because I instantly thought like maybe he caught his finger on the door, but all the doors are already closed, and my brother had been watching him go down the hallway,” said Stephanie.
“Right when he made that turn is when he started to panic, so I think he saw something. That’s the only explanation I have for why he panicked like that.”
The following day, they all came home from shopping. She went to put her bags in the bedroom when she caught another whiff of cigarette smoke again.
This ghost was definitely a smoker. She had done some research on the house, but couldn’t find much information other than the fact that it was 75 years old.
On the last day of their trip, Stephanie and her family were up early for their flight. Her parents also got up to say goodbye.
Her mom had trouble falling back asleep, so she was sitting in the bedroom on her phone when she heard knocking on the door and the walls. She asked the ghost to stop, and sure enough, the noise immediately ceased.
It’s definitely a vacation that the family won’t forget anytime soon.
