How are you supposed to process a betrayal so grotesquely twisted that even the thought of it physically makes you sick?

This 45-year-old woman spent six years with her 50-year-old fiancé. They bought a house, but were waiting until after the wedding to move into it and live together.

“I was madly in love with this man, and I was his first girlfriend in a decade after he experienced a wife cheating on him. We even started a business together within the first couple years of the relationship,” she explained.

“That’s when the cheating began; 4 months after I invested $150k and signed [a] lease for multiple years. That summer he was being extremely toxic to me. It turns out that my daughter, 21(f), had a month-long affair with my fiancé.”

“He was [hooking up] with her in the office in our business before opening and after closing while I was working a corporate job to pay for the investment of said business. I also worked this business 24/7 for not a single payment returned. He makes very good money for the business but none to repay me any of the investment.”

Her daughter is insisting that her fiancé groomed her, because he pursued her. She does think that’s a possibility, but her daughter then confessed she found her fiancé hot and wanted to see if she could hook up with him just to fuel her ego.

She actually recorded her daughter saying that. Her fiancé’s side of the story is that her daughter came onto him, though she doesn’t buy that for a second.

She blames her fiancé more than her daughter. Her fiancé did state that her daughter said horrible things about her and accused her of cheating, which is a lie.

She suspects the affair was happening for years, but she was only told about it by the two of them in 2024. She’s gone to therapy for two and a half years, and so has her fiancé. He didn’t miss a single session.

“He spent this entire time trying for reconciliation. He admitted he destroyed our entire family; it has caused too much heartache that I cannot keep sitting here in this mess anymore,” she added.

“It’s been decided that I cannot reconcile this situation. I feel the gagging sensation when I think about them [together]. It’s such a big betrayal to cheat and then choose a woman’s daughter??? Like who does that? How can you be with a woman you want to marry and then sleep with her daughter the following night?”

Her fiancé’s reason is that he did think she cheated first, but now he knows that’s not true at all. They have since put their house up for sale, and although there are no offers yet, she’s hoping to get rid of it soon.

She wants her fiancé to buy her out of the business or shut it down in two years after the financial responsibilities have been met. She doesn’t think there’s a chance of her getting the money she invested back.

So while she’s wrapping all of this up, she’s struggling with how to move on. She met this man when she was in her late 30s and had so much going for her.

“I am now in my mid 40’s and have to start all over again. I lost my friends because of the situation. I have lost some weight and [am] back to being vibrant!!” she exclaimed.

“This time focusing on a renewed relationship with my daughter (we didn’t speak for 2.5 years) and my son, who was too young to know what happened at the time it did; now he’s old enough to know, but I won’t tell him.”

“…I primarily stayed due to financials, but I don’t have it in me anymore. I will help where I can on the business, but I will be triggered if he starts doing this again with women, but this time right in front of me. I am trying to figure out how to protect myself emotionally and financially.”

Yeah, her daughter definitely wasn’t groomed, and I’m surprised she still wants to have a relationship with her after she blew up her life.

I also can’t believe she hung in there with her fiancé for over two years trying to fix things with him. I know it’s going to be scary to start over, but at least she can finally be free of this messy man.

She’s a warrior for surviving this kind of stomach-turning trauma.

What advice do you have for her?
