Her Sister-In-Law’s 7-Year-Old Sister Walked An Hour In The Heat To Announce She Wants To Live With Her And She’s Telling The Internet She’s Being Accused Of Kidnapping The Kid

A 30-year-old woman says that her 29-year-old sister-in-law’s 7-year-old little sister somehow managed to walk an hour in the heat to her house.

When the little girl got there, she announced that she wants to come live with her now. Although she informed the family of where the little girl was, she’s being accused of kidnapping the kid.

She started out by explaining that not long ago she was able to purchase her own 2 bedroom home and so she no longer lives with her parents.

She’s very close to her sister-in-law, and she frequently goes to family parties and events for her sister-in-law’s family.

Recently, she went to a BBQ at her sister-in-law’s mom’s house. While at the family event, she informed everyone that she finally got her own house, and she couldn’t stop talking about it because she was so excited.

She discussed how the house looked, and she’s positive that she told her sister-in-law’s family what the address was multiple times that day.

Her sister-in-law has a big family and there are lots of children that adore her. The children all asked her if they would be able to visit her new house.

She said that perhaps she could have them over and hold a BBQ there, and the kids left the conversation and kept playing.

A few weeks have gone by since the BBQ, and she got quite a surprise when she heard someone knocking on her front door yesterday.

Standing on her porch was one of the 7-year-old kids from her sister-in-law’s family. The little girl had with her a backpack full of snacks, juice boxes, and a blanket.

“She was sweaty and tired but looked proud of herself and declared that she wanted to live with me from now on,” she said.

“I know it’s about a 45 min walk from her house to mine for an adult. I have no idea how long it took her to get there.”

Thinking her mom probably had no idea that her kid was at her house, she attempted to call several times, but the mom never answered.

She left the mom a message, before putting on a movie for the 7-year-old and getting her a nice cold beverage.

Next, she tried calling her sister-in-law to fill her in on the little girl’s whereabouts, and when her sister-in-law picked up, she could hear how panicked she was.

Her sister-in-law explained that their entire family had spent the past few hours looking for the little girl and she would head to her house to pick her up immediately.

“Before she got to my house their mom called me yelling about how could I tell SIL before her,” she continued.

“And how did I think it was ok to just take her kid?!?! She doesn’t seem to believe 7 walked there herself, heck if I hadn’t seen how tired she was I wouldn’t have believed it.”

When her sister-in-law got to her house, she was still on the phone with the kid’s mom. Her sister-in-law stuck up for her, saying there was just no way that she had kidnapped the kid.

Her sister-in-law pointed out how “wild” and “independent” the little girl was, but the mom did not want to hear it.

At this point, the little girl was out cold, and her sister-in-law placed her in her car and headed to the girl’s house.

“I’ve been told that I’m not allowed at their house anymore and their mom is considering calling the police on me,” she explained.

“She hasn’t yet because her husband and my SIL both say they believe me and that she’s still just upset about the whole thing.”

“Honestly I’m kinda impressed 7 made it all that way and I think it would be wise to give them some space for a while.”

“I am a little worried 7 will do it again and possibly get hurt but I don’t know what I can do about that. Should I just leave the situation to SIL? Should I try apologizing to her mother?”

Here’s what the internet had to say.

“You tell her to go ahead and call the police, maybe CPS should be asking how long it was before it was noticed a 7-year-old was gone. Also, security cameras would prove she walked herself.”

“Apologize for what? Having a house? Giving her daughter shelter and a cold drink before they came for her?”

“Maybe she should apologize for letting 7 unsupervised. I think she is trying to shift the blame on you.”

“Like, 7 could have been hurt or kidnapped or something because she was unsupervised and got out.”

“Why would you kidnap her child and then immediately call her and tell her “hey, your kid is here come get her maybe” like, if we just look at this as a common-sense thing… but, that’s the issue, 7’s mother was probably really frightened and wasn’t/isn’t thinking with common sense, she’s just reacting.”
