This Woman Was Left Humiliated After Being Told She Was Too Big To Get On A Party Bus

San Antonio, Texas. How often are women’s bodies shamed and made to feel inferior? Why do we allow that, and who can judge any human body?

Size is the last thing people need to worry about, but we have become so engrossed with the latest fads and models who barely weigh anything that we have started to judge people based on size.

It’s not a one size fits all world. Humans were created in different shapes and sizes. And we need to embrace it.

One 27-year-old woman from San Antonio, Texas, was recently humiliated because of her weight while on vacation with all of her friends in Miami.

As a plus-size influencer Fallon Melillo has amassed tens of thousands of followers on social media after posting tons of body-positive messages.

A video she posted on TikTok recently went viral acquiring more than half a million views, and in it, she described her heartbreaking experience of being denied access to a party bus despite purchasing a ticket, all because of her weight.

Fallon was on vacation in Miami and was meant to be on her way to Daer, a Hard Rock Hotel nightclub, when she claimed that a party bus employee told her companions she wouldn’t be able to join them.

She stated in her video that her friend had purchased a party bus ticket from a company named Spring Break Miami Party Service Bus to attend a pool party with a bunch of her close friends.

Fallon had only checked out the bus’s stringent requirements the night before. Which stated:

“Sorry, no big girls for this party! The doorman is very strict on appearance. If you have had problems getting into exclusive clubs before, then this is not for you!”

“Please don’t waste your time nor ours thinking that we can get you inside if you do not meet the qualifications.”

Fallon said that when they had all bought their tickets, these absurd requirements were never mentioned to them.

They also spoke with to nightclub where the bus was driving them and were told that there were no admittance requirements based on people’s weight.

Despite all of that, when it came time for Fallon and her friends to get on the party bus, one of the employees of the company told Fallon that she wasn’t welcome to get on.

“It’s just downright awful, rude, and humiliating,” Fallon said in her TikTok video.

“We ended up going there and they turned us away at the door because I…am plus-size, as you can see I’m bigger than I guess the average girl, and they decided to tell us that we can’t get on the party bus.”

“They did refund our money but it was very embarrassing going there and then telling us that we can’t go.”

In an Instagram post, Fallon stated that while she is proud of who she is and what she looks like, she couldn’t help but feel ashamed for being turned away.

“I am confident,” Fallon wrote. “But at this moment I felt embarrassed being denied access and turned away at the door to get on a bus due to my size.”

“The unrealistic body image in today’s society that people must attain is disgusting and damaging to young girls and women. The average size of a woman in society is a size 16.”

In two follow-up videos, Fallon went on to share that the owner of the party bus service apparently downplayed the situation as a mistake, while the CEO of the Hard Rock Hotel apologized to Fallon and promised to no longer work with the promoters that humiliated her.

Additionally, the CEO of the Hard Rock Hotel told Fallon he would make sure all promoters and other people involved with the club were “properly vetted” to ensure that they don’t share the same terrible views regarding curvier girls.
