Her 16-Year-Old Daughter Wants To Get Dressed Up And Go Trick-Or-Treating But This Mom Is Telling The Internet Nobody That Age Should Unless That Have A “Mental Disability”

“She says lots of people her age still go, that she was even invited to go with a group of same-age friends, but I showed her the statistic that most people think that you shouldn’t trick or treat past 12 or so unless you have a mental disability,” this mom continued.

This mom tried to get her daughter to stay home and watch movies with her friends instead, but her daughter insisted Halloween is her favorite of all the holidays and that it will only be special for her if she can get dressed up to trick-or-treat with her friends.

Here’s what the internet had to say.

“You really think a mental disability is the only reason someone her age should trick or treat? Please say that to the parent of someone with a child who has a COGNITIVE disability and see what they say.”

“I am over the moon that your daughter wants to dress up and go out to get candy. I love when teenagers come to my house trick-or-treating.”

“My favorite kids are the ones that I can tell just went to their closet and threw a bunch of weird clothes on and went trick-or-treating.”

“Kids should be doing kids stuff. They grow up too fast.”

“Your minor daughter (cause yup..she’s still one of those) pretty much lost a year of her social and emotional growth. She’s going with a group of friends.”

“Let your daughter be a kid for a little while longer and remove the broomstick you’ve got lodged in ya.”
