152 Days Ago Someone Recorded Her Looking Disoriented And In Need Of Help Before She Disappeared Into A Creek And Her Family Is Hoping Someone Will Come Forward With Information

Prestonsburg, Kentucky. 36-year-old Kandi Gonzalez was clearly in need of help when someone recorded her wandering across the Potter family’s lawn in the area of Abbott Creek Road on June 1st.

She wasn’t far from her own home that afternoon, and according to one of Kandi’s family members, her boyfriend had just kicked her out.

Kandi was dressed in a romper and she did not have any of her personal belongings with her.

In the video footage that someone took on their phone, you can see that Kandi looked disoriented and confused as she walked back and forth.

She then ran towards a creek before disappearing from view. A few days later, Kandi’s family found her shoes in the creek, but she was nowhere to be found.

It’s now been 152 days since Kandi went missing, and nobody knows where she is.

Stacy Potter owns the house Kandi was last seen at and was not home when she happened to be there. He said he and his family had never met Kandi before.

He did offer an account of what happened the day she disappeared, as his sister-in-law was at his house helping one of their disabled family members load the car. As his sister-in-law was standing there in the driveway, some teenaged boys drove up to the house.

These boys had been doing some landscaping work at a nearby home when they saw Kandi in the yard they were working on.

“The young men stated they tried to approach her to see if she needed help. Multiple times she walked away and circled back into the yard before walking off down the main road of Abbott Creek,” Stacy said in a statement.

“The young men decided to drive ahead to see if they could help her. As they approached our address, they saw adults in the driveway and stopped to inform them of the situation.”

“That is when Ms. Gonzales entered our front yard, spoke to no one, and continued through our gate to the back yard.”

“The next few moments were somewhat chaotic, but Ms. Gonzales was approached by our sister-in-law and was offered help.”

“We have seen the video of the exchange and it is unfortunate that Ms. Gonzales did not remain on our property and wait for additional attempts to phone her mother.”

“After Ms. Gonzales exited the property the police were notified in another attempt to help Ms. Gonzales.”

“I understand that some people are upset by the comments made by one of the teenage boys.”

“While I agree the “crazy” comment was insensitive, I would ask everyone to remember that these children were making a sincere attempt to help Ms. Gonzales and the video is a just snapshot of what happened.”

Kandi’s cousin Amanda pointed out that Kandi was upset and had asked for help in the video taken of her, and she’s not sure why things weren’t handled differently.

“The woman in the video, (I know her name but not stating it) didn’t have to be so condescending,” Amanda said.

“Kandi was literally thrown out by her boyfriend with nothing but a romper/sandals on. And SHE asked for help, she asked the woman to “please call my mother” In which she gives the woman her mom’s number.”

“Of course she isn’t gonna tell a stranger what just happened to her. You could tell she was in distress. Maybe someone could have been like are you okay? Do you need a water?”
