He And His Girlfriend Are In An Open Relationship But Now He’s In Love With Another Woman

A 27-year-old guy has been with his girlfriend for 2 years, and ever since they decided to be together, they kept their relationship open.
This means that he and his girlfriend have been free this entire time to be intimate with other people, so long as they tell each other and don’t develop feelings for their flings.
He thought this arrangement was going great for the both of them until he met another woman at work and things got flirtatious.
He did tell his coworker about his open relationship with his girlfriend, and they continued chatting. A month after meeting this other woman, he grabbed drinks with her and spent the night with her too.
Intimacy with his coworker was better than his girlfriend, and although he initially told his girlfriend that he slept with his coworker, he began being secretive.
He stopped telling his girlfriend that he was continuing to see his coworker, and he was afraid his girlfriend would force him to end things with this other woman.
After about 5 months of secretly seeing his coworker, he and his girlfriend wound up moving in together since she graduated college and needed to move out of the dorms.
He started to get cold feet about moving in with his girlfriend, especially since he felt a certain way about his coworker.
He sat down with a friend of his who stressed that it was finally time to end things with his coworker and focus on his girlfriend, so that’s what he did.

He broke things off with his coworker, but during their chat, he realized he was falling in love with her and his coworker shared the same feelings that he did.
Instead of moving ahead with never seeing his coworker again, they settled on taking a little break for several months.
A week after he had this conversation with his coworker, he was miserable. He missed her. He felt that his heart was broken choosing his girlfriend over his coworker.
As he picked out furniture with his girlfriend and went through the motions, he could not stop thinking about his coworker the entire time.
Well, not that long ago, he started seeing his coworker again, and he was instantly back to being happy.
“We kept seeing each other in total secret now because it would hurt my GF if she found out,” he explained.
“We developed way more feelings because we opened up more and more to each other in that way.”
“Each time I got home from her I felt sad, and that the life with my GF wasn’t the life I wanted.”
Several weeks ago, he did admit to his girlfriend that he was no longer attracted to her or happy staying with her, which really blindsided his girlfriend since she thought things were great between them.
He stayed with his girlfriend, but a couple of days ago, he had a discussion with his girlfriend about if they should try to work through this or split up for good.
He never gave his girlfriend a reply about which one he wants to pick since he’s still completely on the fence.
