She Found A Hidden Camera In Her Airbnb’s Bathroom

Unfortunately, finding a hidden camera inside of your Airbnb is not unheard of.
In 2019, Fast Company reported on a professor who found cameras inside his Airbnb. The Atlantic also reported that a family on vacation in an Ireland Airbnb discovered they were being live-streamed via a hidden camera.
Now, another incident has gone viral on TikTok.
After discovering a hidden camera inside her Airbnb bathroom, Brittany Walsh shared a video on her TikTok account. She showed the camera, which appears to be disguised as an Apple charging box.
“Someone’s about to catch a felony for invasive visual recording in our Airbnb bathroom,” Brittany captioned the video.
She showed an image of the Airbnb’s bathroom and circled the outlet where the camera was located.
The camera was plugged in next to the sink, facing toward the toilet and shower. Brittany then included a clip of the police filing her report inside the Airbnb’s living room.
She has not yet posted an update on the report due to a family situation. However, she promises to post an entire “story time” shortly.

In the meantime, the TikTok community has shared their outrage in the comment section of Brittany’s video.
The TikTok reached nearly six hundred thousand viewers, gained thirty-five thousand likes, and has spurred hundreds of comments.
“This is always my worst fear going to Airbnb’s or even hotels,” one user commented.
“Airbnb has ruined everything,” commented another user. Still, some TikTokers are not so convinced that the Airbnb host was the culprit.
“Remember, it may not be the host. It could be a cleaning person or even a past guest. Either way, though, it is messed up,” one user said.
Regardless, taking measures to ensure your safety is always crucial, whether in an Airbnb or a traditional hotel room.
You can first search for any out-of-place looking gadgets that may contain a camera or use a flashlight to check for camera lens reflections throughout the rooms. Plus, you can even use more high-tech security measures like RF detectors and wifi-sniffing apps.
This kind of search may sound excessive to some. But, it is much better to be safe than sorry. In addition, if you do find something out of the ordinary, you can help save the next guests, too.
