She’s Thinking It Might Be A Good Idea To Sleep With Her Boss To Get Promoted And Her Fiancé Doesn’t Agree

A 26-year-old woman has been with her fiancé Tom for a decade, and they first began seeing one another back in high school.

She is completely in love with Tom and she is thrilled to be able to spend the remainder of her life with him.

They have a great house, they have 2 dogs, they have amazing friends, and they have a wonderful relationship with each other, too.

She and Tom pretty much have it all, and they also see eye to eye on being successful in their chosen careers.

Tom currently makes about $200,000 every year, whereas she makes around $50,000 less than he does.

Not that long ago, she was made aware of an opportunity at work to get a promotion while also earning a lot more money, and the role is hers for the taking under one condition.

“The problem is that my current boss (‘James’) (38M) needs to approve this change – the new role is in a slightly different area, so I would no longer work for/with James,” she explained.

“James has tried many times to flirt with me, puts his hands on my thighs in meetings, invited me on holiday with him, or back to his apartment after work, etc.”

“He does not try to be subtle or hide his intentions either, he has told me that he wants me, that my relationship with Tom doesn’t matter and that he always gets what he wants.”

Even though James has been hitting on her hard for years, she simply downplays what he says in order to keep her career safe.

And, she’s willing to overlook all of this since James is a great mentor and really has done a lot for her professionally speaking.

A few days ago, James made it known to her that he is not going to be approving her new position…unless she gives in and sleeps with him.

She does personally know 2 women who did sleep with James, only to get promoted to new positions in the company immediately after that.

“This week James told me that he does not support me moving to a new role as I have never given him what he wants and have been a ‘tease’ for 2 years,” she said.

“He told me I am immature and don’t understand corporate politics but if I can prove him wrong before the end of the week, he will consider supporting me.”

Prior to this week, she never revealed to Tom that her boss James has been hitting on her like crazy, but she told him last night once she had a couple of glasses of wine.

“I explained how much this job means to me and that if spending one night with James is what I need to do then I’m willing to do it with his blessing,” she continued.

Well, Tom absolutely freaked on her and he can’t get how she thinks it’s ok to sleep with her boss in order to get ahead.

Tom thinks she needs to speak to her HR department about James, but she has no intention of doing that and causing waves.

She just wants to be able to move up, and she does believe that if she goes to HR nobody will hear what she’s saying since James is adored at the company.

At the end of the evening, Tom stormed off to stay over at his brother’s place, and he won’t come home or speak to her unless she quits her job.

“I don’t want to lose him but I also don’t want to lose this opportunity,” she concluded. “James has asked me to drinks tomorrow night to ‘discuss my future’. I don’t know what to do!”

Should she sleep with her boss, or should she quit her job?
