Her Sister-In-Law Doesn’t Have Any Kids, Yet She Expects To Be Celebrated As A Mom On Mother’s Day This Year

A 27-year-old woman is a mom, and so are her sisters, who are 32 and 30. She also has a brother who is a year younger than she is, and he very quickly rushed into marriage last year.
Her sister-in-law was only someone her brother knew for a couple of months before he proposed, and now that she’s part of their family, it’s pretty awful.
Her sister-in-law is downright crazy and goes out of her way to ruin holidays and celebrations for them with her behavior.
For Mother’s Day, she is having a brunch at her house for the whole family and she invited her sister-in-law.
It’s not even Mother’s Day yet, and her sister-in-law has already created problems and ruined what she had planned.
She was very surprised this morning to get a text from her brother addressed to the whole family, in which he said he wants his wife to be “equally” celebrated on Mother’s Day.
Her brother also mentioned he had been trying to have a baby for a year with his wife without any luck.
She did feel sympathetic about her brother sharing this news with her, and she decided to get her sister-in-law a card.
For her mom and her sisters, she always gets them presents and flowers, so no, she was not going to do the same for her sister-in-law though.

Then, her sister-in-law hopped onto the group text with her family, and what her sister-in-law said left her shocked.
“SIL really hit a chord for me when she responded in the group chat,” she explained. “She said word for word, “please comply with our wishes as I am just as much of a mother as you girls are.”
“I am a mother of three, two of which I homeschool while working from home with a newborn. Both of my sisters have four kids. This kind of rhetoric is really disturbing, offensive, and disrespectful.”
She really won’t be going out of her way to get her sister-in-law anything but a card now, and her sisters resolved to only get her a card too.
Her sisters are so hurt by what her sister-in-law said that none of them are looking forward to spending Mother’s Day with her now.
Trying to be the bigger person, she chose to call her brother and say sorry to hear about his struggles to have a child, and that she had no idea.
Her brother was horrified to hear this; that’s actually not the truth at all and his wife sent that message from his phone without him even knowing.
“He also said he is beside himself about her nasty comment because SIL justifies it by saying she will birth sons that will carry on our family name and my sisters and I don’t even have the family name anymore,” she said.
Apparently, her sister-in-law feels that she ranks higher in their family as she has their dad’s last name and none of the rest of them do since they got married and took on the last names of their husbands.
“My brother probably should not have told me this but he’s obviously upset and hurting,” she concluded. “I’m at a loss for words.”
Sounds like Mother’s Day is going to be way more than they all bargained for this year if her sister-in-law does end up attending brunch after all this.
