A woman has a 30-year-old friend named Mary who has been having an affair with a married man named Joe for the last 6 years.

Mary and Joe run hot and cold, and although Mary has always been faithful to every guy she has ever dated, the same can’t be said for Joe since he’s married and doing things on the side.

Over the last 6 years that Mary has been seeing Joe, Joe has been married and also living in the same house as his wife.

Joe has never indicated that he’s divorcing his wife or separating from her, and his wife has no clue that he’s dating Mary.

“Mary told me about the affair after a few months when they ‘broke up’ the first time,” she explained.

“She was distraught, and it seemed to definitely be over. She’s had a lot of problems in the past and I felt like Joe had taken advantage of her. I promised not to judge her and just be there for her instead.”

Well, several months after Mary and Joe broke up, Mary confided in her that she was back to sleeping with Joe.

She didn’t condone Mary seeing Joe again, though she promised Mary that she would be there for her if it didn’t work out.

Joe went on to break up with Mary for a second time, only to get into a pattern of getting back together and breaking up.

This all happened for years on end, and every time Joe would kick Mary to the curb, Mary would be inconsolable.

As this pattern continued, she let Mary know that it was time to be done with Joe for good, all while not judging Mary at all.

When the pandemic hit, Joe was stuck in his house with his wife, so she figured that would be the end of Mary and Joe.

She was wrong though, as Mary and Joe got back together a couple of days ago.

“I snapped and told her I couldn’t believe she was doing this again; doesn’t she care at all about Joe’s wife; it’s one thing doing this as a confused 24-year-old but by 30 you should know better; etc, etc.,” she said.

“It’s stuff I’ve been feeling for a long time but never told her because of my promise not to judge her, and because she’s repeatedly told me over the years how much she appreciates that.”

“Then I told her if she was going to do this again, I didn’t want to hear anything about it, and I wasn’t going to be the shoulder to cry on because at this point she deserves to cry alone.”

As you can imagine that’s not what Mary wanted to hear, so she began crying and left. She’s feeling bad and like maybe she is a jerk since she promised all along to never judge Mary, yet here she is, judging her for the affair that’s gone on for years.

Do you think it’s wrong of her to judge her friend?
