This Small Town Barista Went Viral On TikTok For Sharing A Story About A Nightmare Customer

Dean Redmond (@deanredmonds) is a 21-year-old barista and restaurant employee who is gaining traction on TikTok for all of his crazy customer stories.
Dean embeds the words “true story” into most of his videos, and this particular story about an irritating customer went viral with over 65,000 likes.
Dean works at a coffee shop in a small town that is down the road from a popular Starbucks.
Recently, that Starbucks shut down so a lot of customers have started making their way over to Dean’s shop for their daily coffee orders.
“Anyone who works at Dunkin’ or Starbucks has my sincerest apologies,” says Dean. “We’ve been getting all of your crazy regulars since the place down the road is closed.”
Dean then starts describing a rude woman that came “barreling through” the shop doors and greeted him by noting how she was frustrated about the Starbucks being closed.
Despite her rotten attitude, Dean did his best to greet the woman with a smile and take her order. The customer ordered an iced, caramel nitro cold brew with coconut milk.
Dean tried politely explaining to the woman that, unlike Starbucks, his small coffee shop does not sell nitro cold brew or coconut milk.

To which she immediately replied, “Ugh! I hate almond milk.” She hadn’t even heard all of her options yet!
When Dean offered her oat milk, she resentfully accepted.
Because the shop doesn’t carry nitro cold brew, Dean improvised and made the customer an iced coffee with caramel and oat milk.
After taking a sip, the woman exclaimed, “Ew, this coffee tastes watered down! Can you please make it with espresso?”
Dean told her that he would make a new drink without charging her for the old one. However, Dean could not make her an actual ‘iced espresso’ since the shop doesn’t have it ready to go.
Therefore, Dean had to improvise once again and make fresh espresso to pour over a cup of ice. He added oat milk and caramel, then gave it to the woman.
Once again she made a fuss, claiming that the coffee tasted “even more watered down.”
An exhausted Dean then apologized, and once again agreed not to charge her for the drink since she didn’t like it.
On the third round, she switched her order to a hot caramel macchiato with whipped cream. Dean made it, gave it to her, and she was still unsatisfied.
“They just make this so much better at Starbucks,” said the customer.
“Hello lady, this is not Starbucks!” Dean points out in his video.
Dean had no other choice but to charge her for the third drink. The bill included an extra dollar for the oat milk, since his store charges extra for non-dairy milk.
After giving the customer her bill, she said, “You did not just charge me for oat milk. They don’t do that Starbucks.”
For the tenth time lady, this is not a Starbucks!
The woman demanded that she be given the phone number of one of the bosses at the coffee shop. She called them right then and there!
Dean overheard his boss tell the customer over the phone that Dean was correct, and that they have to charge her extra for non-dairy milk.
The customer had the audacity to try and lie to Dean by telling him that his boss said he could take the charge off as soon as she hung up the phone!
Dean told her that he overheard the conversation and that she would still have to pay.
To which the woman replied, “Whatever. I don’t even want this, and I’m only going to Starbucks from now on.”
Good riddance, lady!
