He’s Upset That His Girlfriend Has Gained Just 19 Pounds, And Has Been Encouraging Her To Lose Weight
A twenty-seven-year-old man has been living with his girlfriend of six years now. But, according to him, her appearance has changed a lot over the last few years.
When they first got together, his girlfriend was apparently very fit and had an athletic body to match.
Then, after she got promoted, began working longer hours, and started eating later at night, she reportedly put on some weight.
We are not talking fifty or even one hundred pounds, though. Somehow, he knows that his girlfriend has put on exactly nineteen pounds.
“And on her five-foot-two frame, it definitely shows,” he said.
Once he realized she was slowly gaining weight, he apparently tried to drop “subtle hints” over the last year.
But, after she did not catch on, he literally sat her down last month to have a discussion about her weight. And shockingly, she agreed.
“I said that enough was enough. She needed to make an effort to get healthy. And she agreed and asked me to help since I am in great shape myself,” he recalled.
Then, following their discussion, he claims to have done “everything to support her in losing weight.”

He paid for expensive supplement programs, woke up early to prepare her healthy lunches, bought her a road bicycle, and began training her at the gym.
One afternoon last week, though, he borrowed his girlfriend’s car and learned that she had been cheating their meal plans behind his back. He apparently found fast food wrappers and receipts all over the interior– which prompted him to check their joint bank account.
And after checking, he realized that his girlfriend had been frequenting fast food joints nearly every day. Moreover, she was going to the restaurants during her lunch hour– meaning that she had been throwing away the “healthy” meals he had prepared her. This seriously infuriated him, so he confronted her again. But, this time, he pushed her to tears.
“She began crying and took accountability for her lack of discipline. But, when I was telling my girlfriend’s sister about this ordeal, she said I was being controlling and a jerk,” he explained.
Regardless of what his sister-in-law said, he still believes that his girlfriend is “setting herself up” for heart disease, diabetes, and knee problems.
“Also, we don’t even have kids yet. So, to be gaining this type of weight so rapidly is definitely concerning to me for her health,” he added. Yikes.
Still, though, he has begun questioning if encouraging her weight loss is a totally rude thing to do.
Are nineteen pounds really that much to fret over? Is it his place to push his girlfriend to lose weight, or is he entirely out of line? When is it okay, if ever, for a partner to comment on your weight?
