Her Husband Is A Professional Athlete Who Just Told Her He Slept With Multiple Women Recently, So She Should Probably Get Tested
A 28-year-old woman met her 30-year-old husband back when they both were in college. Back then, he was big into baseball, and after graduation, he began playing the sport on a professional level.
Although her husband isn’t famous like some pro athletes, he still plays at the same level as those who are, and he makes a killing.
“I understand that the professional athlete world is generally filled with stories of bad marriages, but when it was confirmed that he would be going pro, we sat down and talked about both of our fears, insecurities, and plans for the future,” she explained.
“I gave him the opportunity to say that he wanted to live the single life, and he said he loved me. In addition, he cited his parents’ happy marriage as a motivator and said that he understands that everything outside of our family and circle of friends is just ” noise,” and I helped him keep his sense of reality.”
Looking back on their college days, some girls would aggressively pursue her husband, but he never once strayed from their relationship, even though he did admit that he felt tempted from time to time.
Her husband was adamant about setting good boundaries so that nothing could ever happen to tear them apart.
Since college, she hasn’t changed that much and is pretty much the exact same person. She stays active and fit and does everything she can to support her husband while making it a priority to spend quality time with him when he’s not on the road.
Although she’s successful in her own right in her career running a photography and marketing business, she never puts so much on her plate that her husband isn’t her main focus.
She really goes out of her way to maintain a connection with her husband even though the reality of his job is that he’s not actually home with her that many days in the year.

She also isn’t able to fly out to the city he’s in to be with him that frequently, but she never thought that was a problem.
Her husband enjoys having money to spend as well as spending time with his teammates, so she figured everything was going great for him and for their marriage.
Over time, her intuition told her that there was something off with her husband, but the feeling did not come on suddenly; it came on gradually.
In the beginning, when her husband turned pro, they FaceTimed literally all the time. As time went on, though, that happened less and less.
When she did speak to him on video, he was not really paying attention to her. Sometimes, he would say his camera wasn’t working, and sometimes the room he was in was strangely dark.
When he came home, he was frequently distracted and on his phone. He was also somewhat secretive about what he was doing on his device.
Several days ago, her husband revealed to her that she should probably get tested, as he had cheated on her with multiple women.
“I told him I was leaving and changing the locks unless he came clean about how many women he had slept with,” she said.
“He put his head down and said besides the married woman (who he did give me the name of), he slept with three other girls, two he met at the club and one he met at a hotel.”
“He said that his cheating had nothing to do with me, and when I asked if he just wasn’t satisfied with marriage anymore, he quickly said no, and he loved our marriage- he wanted to grow old with me and have a family.”
Obviously, his actions don’t make it seem like he wants to be with her forever, and she packed her bags to go to a hotel room.
Although he got down on his knees and pleaded with her not to leave him, she did leave. After spending some time in the hotel, she moved into an investment property that they own, and that has sat untouched.
“He’s been texting and saying that he couldn’t handle the temptation but that everybody around him is cheating, and it is hard,” she continued.
“He also claimed that he fell for the words of superstitious teammates and acted out due to his anxiety. I’m friends with other girlfriends/ wives of athletes, and they said that they just accepted that all men cheat or something along those lines.”
“Or that sports turn everybody into narcissists and that I was not physically there to validate him, so he strayed. I feel like a fool for believing he would remain faithful.”
She’s left feeling like a failure, especially since her parents have made it through marriage for decades, and in contrast, her husband couldn’t handle being faithful to her for a few years. She’s not really sure what to do.
