“…The second time he came out to our house, he made a comment about dating her instead because she was cooking ( we rotate nights cooking dinner, and it was her night) while I was making us all drinks,” she said.
“I immediately asked him to leave, then retreated to my room to cry myself to sleep. The second and third times I’ve been interested in other men, they have also made comments about dating or including her (she usually joins the calls or video chats).”
“She’s noticed that I won’t answer calls, messages, or video chats while she’s around. I explained that mentally I can’t deal with anyone person preferring her over myself, so I will never bring another person into our home while we live together.”
Her best friend accused her of being envious, and her best friend maintained that it isn’t her fault if guys react to her in a certain way.
She’s left wondering if she’s a jerk for wanting to never invite guys over in case they might fall for her best friend.
