It wasn’t your average catfish profile, though. It was extremely detailed and had lots of Emily’s personal information. It was so bad that the local police told Emily she shouldn’t go anywhere by herself or be home alone for a few months.
After TikTok users begged for more information on this story in the comments, Emily made a follow-up video. Emily says in her video that the stalker from France really did know everything about her.
“He knows everything about me,” she says. “My pet’s names, my friend’s names, where I live. It was very weird.”
The stalker ended up hiring a private investigator to look into the profile because he claimed to bring the situation to “international court.” After a few months went by, the stalker emailed Emily’s father.
“The private investigator traced the account back to some internet hacker in Nigeria,” says Emily.
Emily still has no clue how her information may have gotten to a hacker in Nigeria. The stalker ended his email with a very basic apology and said that Emily’s family would never be hearing from him again. Thankfully, 10 years later, Emily still has not seen or heard anything from this man.
