She’s Refusing To Financially Support Her Sister’s IVF Treatments Because Her Sister Cheated On Her Own Childhood Best Friend
This woman’s thirty-four-year-old sister, Meg, was married to a man named Josh. But Meg cheated on Josh with his best friend, Liam. And it gets worse.
She did not even cheat just once. Meg and Liam actually kept up the affair for over four years.
Then, once Josh found out, he understandably broke up with Meg and tried to move on with his own life.
Still, Meg never really suffered. Instead, she and Liam just continued seeing each other. And now, they have officially been together for five years.
But, the larger problem is that Josh was actually her own best friend since elementary school. In turn, her sister Meg only ever met Josh through her and then ended up screwing him over.
So, the cheating seriously strained her own relationship with Meg, too.
“My relationship with Meg took a toll on me because I was annoyed with her for doing that to my best friend,” she said.
They never completely cut contact because Meg had a son who later became her godson.
Just last year, though, she received a pretty large sum of money as part of her inheritance. And out of pure generosity, she decided to give half of it to her parents and siblings.

“My parents decided to renovate the house,” she recalled. “Two of my brothers paid off their house debts.”
“Another sister asked if she could pay for her IVF treatment with her girlfriend, and I said yes. At no time did I ever control how they wanted to spend their money.”
Nonetheless, Meg was ecstatic about her newfound money and asked her to use it toward IVF as well. But Meg wanted to do IVF with Liam– which made her hesitate.
“I am still best friends with Josh, and I can tell you what they did to him caused years of therapy to even get him to start thinking about dating someone,” she explained.
“I also don’t talk to Liam ninety-nine percent of the time, and I only help my sister– because, after all, she had my nephew.”
In fact, she did not even go to Meg and Liam’s wedding and has always made it clear that she really does not support their relationship.
So, in response to using her inheritance to fund the IVF, she ended up telling Meg no. She basically said that since the IVF explicitly involved Meg, Liam, and their relationship, she did not feel comfortable with it.
Instead, she would rather help pay off debts, renovate their home, or refurbish the house.
Still, Meg did not understand at all. Instead, she began screaming at her to get over their relationship since it “had nothing to do with her” and “was years ago.”
Those comments ended up sparking a full-blown argument. And afterward, she actually decided not to give Meg any money at all.
Instead, she decided to set up a fund for Meg’s son so that he could handle the inheritance once he turned eighteen.
And even though she thought this was a good plan to avoid all of the drama, it ended up angering Meg off even more. Now, Meg is claiming that she has helped everyone in the family except for her sister.
Plus, Meg was also blaming her inability to have children on her and said she was cruel for denying the treatment that could help welcome another baby into the world.
So now, she is utterly lost about what to do. She does not want to support Meg and Liam’s relationship at all, but she is also not sure if denying them the IVF funds is the wrong thing to do.
If you were in her shoes, how would you handle this situation? Do you think Meg has any right over the money since it is a gift?
