She was relieved by Derrick’s answer, and Derrick let her know that she was allowed to bring strawberries in the next day with her lunch.
“So the next day, I brought my strawberries, and Jane goes off on me as I open my lunch and claims I’m trying to kill her,” she said.
“She says this loud enough all of my other coworkers gather around my door and see what’s going on. Jane storms out, and about half of my coworkers tell me I’m an a****** for doing that to her and walk out with her. The other half sits there and tells me it’s fine and that she did the same thing to them but with different foods (examples: carrots, beans, avocado. etc.).”
She’s currently getting flooded with a bunch of nasty emails from some of her coworkers, and they’re saying she’s a terrible person.
She does have a handful of coworkers on her side who agree that she should be allowed to bring her strawberries to work, as Jane can’t prove her allergy.
She’s left wondering if it was mean of her to bring the strawberries in after Jane freaked out the first time. What do you think?
