She Was Left Crying In The Airport For An Hour After An Employee In A Store Asked Her If She Was Pregnant
“How far along are you?” is one of the worst things to hear when you’re not pregnant. It always makes you feel like everyone is constantly watching you and can see right through you to your biggest insecurities.
This is, unfortunately, what happened to the owner of the Australian company, Tribe Skincare, @tribeskincare on TikTok, when she was in an airport recently.
Her eyes are swollen and puffy in her first video when she says, “So, I’ve just spent the last hour crying in the Melbourne airport.”
As most of us do when waiting for your flight, she was walking around the airport, trying to kill some time before she had to get to her gate for boarding.
“I was looking forward to doing some shopping while my flight was delayed,” she explained.
But her shopping trip took a turn when she walked into a store and was greeted with something unpleasant.
“I was just going about my business, shopping around for some clothes,” she said. “The lady who was there was like, ‘Oh, how far along are you?'”
She was in complete shock and didn’t know what to say. Not only is the entire situation awkward, but the salesperson continued to make it worse by insisting that she looked pregnant.

“I was like, ‘what?’ because I’m not pregnant,” she added. “So I said, ‘no, I’m not pregnant,’ and she was like, ‘oh, I’m so sorry, I just thought you looked pregnant.'”
While that is the absolute worst response to receive after saying that you’re not pregnant, to make matters worse, she was catching a flight to Queensland for a vacation on a beach!
“So yeah, now I have to go to Queensland and wear a bikini on my holiday, ’cause that’s all I have with me after being fat-shamed,” she said on the verge of tears.
Although the entire situation in the airport was devastating, she received an enormous amount of support from her followers, who said the same thing had happened to them.
“I was just reading through all the comments on the video,” she said as she started to cry. “That’s why I’m crying again because it was so sad, like reading about how many people this happened to.”
The entire incident really disturbed her, and she was having a difficult time moving on from it.
“Knowing today like how much it upset and triggered me and knowing how often it’s happening,” she continued. “It was nice to read all the comments and know that I’m not alone in the experience.”
Given the way in which society focuses too much on weight and “being skinny,” something like this should never happen to anyone.
It can badly affect someone mentally, and you never know what other things they are dealing with in their life.
“The moral is definitely never ask someone if they are pregnant, even if they look nine months pregnant,” she concluded. “Just don’t ask.”
