“I also told my brother that if he even wanted us to consider coming, he would have to tell his nephew himself that he was going back on his promise and why,” he revealed.
According to him, his brother did not take that well at all, though. Instead, his brother claimed that it felt like he was issuing an ultimatum– making his brother choose between his family and his fiancée on what is supposed to be the happiest day of his life.
So, he got accused of being unfair; meanwhile, he told his brother that he should have never made a promise he could not keep.
And now, with the wedding quickly approaching, he has been left wondering whether insisting that his brother explain the child-free situation to his son is justified or not.
Do couples have a right to host child-free weddings? Does that mean his brother is allowed to bail on the promise made to his son, or should his brother have to deal with the fallout? How would you handle this situation?
