What started as a fun night out for her sister’s birthday became a terrifying mess after she returned home and had to deal with an unwanted visitor.

She’s only 20-years-old and was out with her sister and friends to celebrate her sister’s birthday. After eating dinner and roaming around the city for a while, she decided to head back home, leaving her sister and some remaining friends to keep partying.

Before heading home, a friend texted her and asked if she wanted to get together to watch a movie. She said yes, and met him at her apartment.

She noticed an unfamiliar car parked outside her apartment but figured it was for one of her neighbors and went ahead inside. What happened next was completely unexpected.

While she was changing and her friend scrolled through Netflix, she heard a knock at her door.

She opened the door without knowing who it was, which she now admits was a terrible idea. Standing there was a tall man who looked like he was in his mid to late 20s.

“He asked where my sister was,” she explained. “I told her that I didn’t have a sister. He then asked for her by name.”

How creepy is that?

She kept trying to lie and tell him that she doesn’t have a sister, but he knew she did, as he continued to aggressively ask for her by name.

He explained that he followed her from the last place they were in for her birthday celebration and “just wanted to see her.”

“Absolutely not,” she thought to herself. “Nothing about that sat right with me.”

Then, she realized that this man must have followed her home and mistook her for her sister since she accidentally left the birthday party wearing her sister’s jacket.

Suddenly, as she tried to close the door, he tried to force his way in. She tried her best to push him away, but it didn’t work because he was much larger than her. He started yelling out her sister’s name while shoving her to the side. Thankfully, her friend stepped in at the right time and managed to push him up against a wall and hit him in the face. He must not have realized someone else was home.

Finally, he ran from the front door back into his car and drove off. She locked her front door before calling the police and filing a report. She noted that she actually had a doorbell camera at the time and realized too late that she should have just spoken to him through the camera while inside the house instead of risking her safety by opening the door.

When she saw her sister again, she showed her his picture from the camera. Her sister had no idea who he was, although she said he looked somewhat familiar.

“I should have just gauged him from inside the house and not opened the door,” she explained. “Carelessness got the better of me in that instant, and I’m still kicking myself over it. This could have ended a lot worse.”

Can you imagine what would’ve happened if that guy somehow made his way into her house?
