This man’s sister-in-law lives in a different state and actually lost her driver’s license due to reckless driving.

So, he recently did her sister-in-law a favor and helped drive her to complete some errands.

During their travels together, though, his sister-in-law would not stop trying to give him instructions the entire drive.

“My sister-in-law thinks that she discovered Google maps for some reason and had it on,” he recalled.

He had driven throughout the same area hundreds of times in the past, though, so he really did not need any navigation help. Plus, he realized that most of the directions his sister-in-law was giving him were actually wrong.

But what really frustrated him the most was how his sister-in-law kept commenting on his driving habits.

To him, this was completely ironic and hypocritical, given that he had never even been in an at-fault accident, yet his sister-in-law was the one who lost her license.

Nonetheless, his sister-in-law was actually the one who became angry at him after he kept ignoring the driving directions and route advice.

“And I thought she reached for the steering wheel a few times,” he added.

He did reveal that his sister-in-law never actually grabbed the wheel. But, the reaching was still enough to scare him. So, after a while, he decided to just put his foot down. More specifically, he pulled up to a Park and Ride bus stop and handed over his personal bus pass– which had enough money to get his sister-in-law home.

Then, he told his sister-in-law to get out of the car, take bus number 37, and what stop to get off at. Afterward, he just left his sister-in-law at the bus stop and drove home.

While it might have felt good to ditch his sister-in-law at the time, though, all of his in-laws are now really furious with him. His wife was even upset with him too. But thankfully, his wife did calm down after he explained what had happened in the car.

“And my wife knows her sister well,” he said.

Nonetheless, his wife still thinks that he could have warned his sister-in-law before pulling over and dumping her at the bus stop. So now, he has been left wondering whether dropping his sister-in-law off after the backseat driving incident made him a jerk or not.

Is backseat driving dangerous? Do you think he had a right to drop his sister-in-law off? Or should he have provided a warning first? What would you have done in this situation?
