Jeff just did not agree, though, and claimed he was entitled to “show a more accurate representation” of her family. He also accused her of hurting Nathan and the girls by wearing a locket that did not include them.
And at that point, she honestly lost it. She went off on her mom and stepfather, reiterating that they did not have the right to make the decision of who she carried around inside her locket.
Then, she told Jeff that he would never deserve a spot in her locket. She also told her mom that her spot was lost, too, and ultimately left the house– telling everyone that they needed to stay the heck away from her.
Thankfully, her brother was appalled by her mom and stepfather’s actions and ultimately took her side. Her brother even told her mom to accept that they just did not feel the same way as she and Jeff. Nonetheless, her mom and Jeff have continued claiming that she is a jerk.
“And mom said since my dad bought it while they were married, she also bought it and had every right to interfere with it,” she vented.
So now, in the wake of that argument, she’s been left wondering whether telling her mom and stepfather that they had no right to even touch her locket was the wrong thing to do.
Can you understand why her locket is so sentimental? Did her mom and stepfather have a right to go behind her back and tamper with the images inside? If you were in her shoes, would you be furious also? How should she handle this situation?
