But recently, she has been getting seriously fed up with this whole living arrangement. After all, her in-laws get to come home and relax as soon as they finish work.
She, on the other hand, gets off work and is immediately expected to clean and cook without any help.
Even on the weekends, she spends half of her day cleaning the entire house while her in-laws are out doing whatever they want.
So, just last week, the whole situation finally boiled over. It all began when she started to feel very sick, actually the worst she had ever felt, and all she wanted was to get some sleep.
Yet, around dinner time one evening, her mother-in-law decided to wake her up and ask when she was getting up to cook dinner.
Now, at the time, she did not want to start an argument. That’s why she just got up and cooked dinner for everyone.
“But as I was in the kitchen, struggling not to pass out, the three of them sat watching a movie, waiting for me to bring in their food,” she recalled.
Still, she did not say anything about it at first. Rather, she waited until she and her husband were alone to bring up all of her concerns and frustrations.
At that point, her husband did apologize and offered to help her out more, which she gladly accepted. Yet, the very next day, the same pattern repeated itself.
She was forced to drag herself out of bed to cook dinner and serve the food to her in-laws. Then, her mother-in-law even had the nerve to say, “Oh, you look truly awful! Poor you! Oh, by the way, later, would you mind giving everywhere an extra clean? I don’t want to get whatever you have.”
After her mother-in-law said that, she could not take it anymore and wound up snapping.
