Her sister became offended and ranted about how it was not her child or her problem. Her sister said that kids and weddings are a part of life and that she had to figure things out herself.
Finally, she told her sister that she would not be attending her wedding if she couldn’t get any help to pay for child care. Her sister called her entitled and ridiculous.
She later found out that her sister went around to the rest of their family complaining, saying she didn’t want to attend the wedding.
Now, her family is mad at her for “not being there” for her sister. She understands if her sister doesn’t want to help her pay for child care, but doesn’t think it’s fair for her sister to be upset over a strict rule she put in place.
“I think that’s ridiculous,” she said.
“Money is tight. Child care is expensive. I can’t magically afford for someone to watch my six-year-old, and most people would just let me bring him to the wedding.”
Is her sister being unreasonable, or should she have prioritized finding child care for her son sooner?
