“And he is extremely open with me and consistent in everything he does.”
That’s why, for her, this new routine has been a breakthrough. In the past, she thought she needed to be constantly texting her partner all day, every day, in order to calm her anxiety.
Now, though, she realized that she actually needed the opposite.
“We don’t text much at all, but it’s so consistent, and it’s been really wonderful for someone like me with pretty bad anxiety,” she said.
She did admit that she still gets some anxiety flare-ups. But, they are never caused by her boyfriend– which has led her to believe that consistent communication is the key to successfully dating while living with anxious attachment.
