While She Was Staying At A Luxury Campsite In The Sahara Desert, A Guy Who Worked At The Campsite Peeked In Her Tent One Night Before Walking Around The Outside Of It, Calling Her Name

Have you ever gone on vacation and stayed at a hotel or resort where another guest wouldn’t leave you alone?

One woman is still thinking about a recent creepy experience she had with a campsite employee while camping out in the Sahara desert.

She’s 23 years old and recently traveled to Africa with her family. They stayed at a luxury campsite in the Sahara Desert and slept in furnished tents with bathrooms and door locks. She and her sister shared a tent for the two nights they were there, while her parents shared one across a walkway.

During their first night at the campsite, she and her sister started getting to know some of the young men that worked there. They were all in their 20s and 30s and seemed friendly and harmless.

While hanging around the campfire, she noticed that one of the men paid a lot of attention to her, and although she was a little uncomfortable, she brushed it off.

“Out in the desert, you can see the stars really well and even the Milky Way on clear nights,” she explained.

“But, you have to wait for the moon to go down, which is around 2:00 AM. I guess it’s a normal thing for the guys to come around to the tents and knock on the door to see if you’re awake and want to come out to look at the stars.”

That same night, her sister decided to go out and look at the stars while she stayed in the tent to sleep. She left the tent door unlocked so her sister wouldn’t get locked out. However, that decision quickly turned into a mistake.

About an hour later, she was sleeping on her side and suddenly woke up to the sight of one of the male campsite employees peeking his head into her tent. After staring at him in shock, she realized it was the same one who had been staring at her during the campfire. He wanted her to join him to look at the stars.

She started panicking as she stared back at this man with his head through the door. Trying not to cause a scene, she got up from bed and told him she was too tired to go out and stargaze.

“I don’t know how long he was there for,” she recalled. “It could’ve been a literal second, or it could’ve been two minutes, but either way, I was high-key horrified.”

He tried to convince her to join him, telling her he wouldn’t be at the site the next night. After telling him no multiple times, only for him to ask for her phone number, she finally lied and said she had a boyfriend back home.

She could tell he was starting to back off, but he asked for her first name before leaving her tent. She told him and figured it wouldn’t be a big deal if he only knew her first name.

Later that night, as she was in the bathroom of her tent, she terrifyingly heard him walking around outside the tent, calling her name. She stayed quiet inside but had to listen to him creepily call out her name several more times.

Unfortunately, when she told her family all about what had happened the next day, her dad and sister didn’t take her very seriously.

Despite that, she still went out to stargaze with her sister on their second night at the camp. She was feeling safe and having a good time, thinking the guy from last night wasn’t there.

It was very dark outside, so she couldn’t make out anyone’s facial features. She struck up a conversation with one of the male employees, and it was pleasant. But then, in the middle of their chatting, he asked if she remembered him. It turned out to be the same guy who peeked into her tent.

“Surprisingly, he was fine that night and respected my boundaries, so I didn’t say anything to the guys who ran the camp,” she said.

“I was planning on doing so if he did anything remotely uncomfortable, but he didn’t.”

Thankfully, the rest of the night went without a hitch, and she figured that would be the last she’d see of this employee.

But then, after her family left the campsite, she started getting messages on Instagram. Sure enough, they were from the employee. He had found her account somehow, even though he only knew her first name.

She hasn’t been answering his messages and doesn’t plan on doing so in the future.

Should she contact the campsite staff and tell them about her freaky encounter with one of their employees?
