He Told His Wife That If She Gets Their Daughter Kicked Out of Another Daycare Program, She’s Going To Have To Quit Her Job, Because They Can’t Afford Alternative Childcare Options

This guy and his wife have a 3-year-old girl named Alexis, and Alexis has been in daycare ever since she was 1, as he and his wife both work.
Over the course of the 2 years that Alexis has been going to daycare, they have been kicked out of two different places due to how badly his wife likes to micromanage things.
He does say that he and his wife didn’t know a thing about daycare, to begin with, so the first time they got kicked out wasn’t totally their fault.
“I quickly learned that they can’t provide personalized care and after learning from her teachers, I reset my expectations,” he explained.
“My wife, however, has a lot of anxiety and worries about our daughter. She hates when she gets even a little upset. She’s in therapy and is working on it.”
“First program, my wife would constantly watch the live feed and call the daycare multiple times a day. We had several talks about it and the school talked to us twice. My wife ended up screaming at one of the teachers and then the director. We were terminated immediately.”
Things at their second daycare went slightly better, as his wife was in therapy then. But his wife had so much anxiety that she found something to complain about every single day.
The things his wife picked apart weren’t big issues at all; they were tiny things, like one time a child took a toy that Alexis had and Alexis ended up crying.
The teacher handed that toy back to Alexis, but his wife got upset that the child who took the toy in the first place was not punished.

While their second daycare did not officially kick them out, they said they needed to find a new place.
So, he and his wife pulled Alexis out and send her somewhere new. It was then beginning to dawn on him that his wife was really burning bridges and turning into “one of those moms.”
Their third daycare, which is the one they are currently at, is much smaller than the first two places they sent Alexis to, and it’s run out of a woman’s home.
The reason they chose this daycare is that he and his wife simply could not afford to send Alexis to another program at a bigger daycare center.
The woman who owns their current daycare is kind but she sets boundaries and won’t allow his wife to break them.
He figured things were going fine, as the owner exclusively speaks to his wife, but he was wrong.
Recently, he was placed in a group text stating that his wife has been sending the daycare owner text every single day, even though the daycare owner says she will only text his wife back at lunchtime.
The owner outlined that from now on, she will only reply at specific times during the day and any texts sent outside those times she will be ignoring.
The owner additionally included multiple pages of their daycare contract with certain parts that were highlighted in an effort to show all of the policies his wife had not adhered to.
He was furious. That evening, when Alexis was in bed, he sat down with his wife to talk about this.
“I said this was our last option for daycare,” he continued. “The other centers are too expensive and this was the only home daycare in the area that we like.”
“A nanny is not in our budget. My wife made a million excuses, including that it’s not her fault she’s anxious. I said if we are asked to leave this program too, my wife will be the one quitting her job to watch Alexis, not me.”
“This upset my wife. I pointed out I’ve spoken to her kindly about this plenty of times. I encourage her to keep up her therapy. But she can’t keep getting us kicked out of programs. My wife is now not speaking to me.”
He’s left wondering if it was wrong of him to lay down the law with his wife. What do you think?
