She Put Some Restrictions In Her Will For One of Her Sons, But Not The Other

Her lawyer told her about a life estate with remainder interest. This way, the house will go straight to her grandchildren after Sam, and he will only be able to live in, not sell, the home.

While Alex’s portion is willed straight to him, he still wouldn’t have the ability to sell it without Sam’s permission. Over a family dinner, she showed her sons her written will.

“Sam got very upset when I explained my will and said I don’t trust him over something that was ages ago and asked [if] I favor Alex. He is not talking to me,” she said.

Do you think these stipulations on Sam were wrong of her to place? Or do you think it was reasonable? Do you think Sam should have reacted in the way he did?
