The man claimed the teenage girl was wearing a blouse, blue jeans, and white sneakers and had a grayish duffle bag.
Since receiving this tip, Detective James Godinho and the Sherborn Police Department have conducted more interviews with Simone’s former co-workers at the Rainbow Restaurant, who were with her on the day she went missing. Sure enough, in an interview, one of the restaurant’s former waitresses gave the same description of Simone’s clothing in 2016.
After looking into the elderly man’s story, Detective James Godinho was unable to find any state police records on that specific traffic stop involving the state trooper, making it difficult to prove the story was true. The man has since passed away but Detective Godinho has interviewed his son and plans on interviewing him again in the future. He is beginning to suspect that foul play may have been a part of Simone’s disappearance.
Today, Detective Godinho is still working hard to conduct interviews, crack this case, and find out what happened to Simone.
“There’s some gaps in information that we don’t have, and we really do need the public’s help,” he said.
“It can be big or small, whatever the information is. That’s what we want.”
On the day of Simone’s disappearance, she wore blue jeans with rips and patches, a white t-shirt, white high-top sneakers, and silver jewelry. She was carrying a gray duffel bag with her waitressing uniform inside. Simone was 5’2”, had strawberry-blonde hair, brown eyes, and weighed around 115 to 125 pounds. She would have been 63 years old today.
If you have any information regarding her case, you are urged to contact the Sherborn Police Department at 508-653-2424.
