A Guy Tried To Lure Her Into His Basement When She Arrived At His House To Pick Up Something He Sold Her Online

Doing your shopping through online e-commerce platforms is an excellent way to save money on goods that would cost twice as much when purchased brand-new from a retailer.
However, they can be magnets for crime, as many buyers have encountered scammers or even potential kidnappers.
TikToker Ali (@coffeetilvodka) is recounting how a guy tried to lure her into his basement when she arrived to pick up a jacket he was selling.
So, her daughter wanted a new jacket, but the jacket she had in mind was $400. As a mom, she, of course, wanted to fulfill her daughter’s wishes, but the jacket was out of her price range.
So, she went online to try to find one that was being sold for cheaper. A couple of days ago, she came across a seller on an e-commerce platform that had listed the jacket at a price she could afford.
She reached out to the guy selling the jacket and asked if she could pick it up at his house on Tuesday.
He agreed, so on Tuesday at ten in the morning, she headed on her way. When she was three minutes away, she messaged him to let him know she was almost there. He gave her message a thumbs-up.
But then, she got lost. His house was at the end of a long driveway, and it took her a little while to find it.
When she finally located his house, she noticed that all the lights were turned off, as if no one was home.

After knocking on the door, a man opened it and looked right past her; his eyes turned toward the sky. He voiced his admiration for the sky and the clouds, which Ali thought was strange.
He greeted her and asked what he could do for her, implying that he didn’t know why she was at his door. Ali was confused and thought she might be at the wrong house. She told him she was there for the jacket. He asked her what jacket she was talking about, even though they had just been texting about it.
Then, he instructed her to go around the side of the house and down the stairs to the basement suite to retrieve the jacket.
He added that she should be careful because the basement was dark and had a low ceiling. Ali’s first instinct was to do as he had said, but then, alarm bells started ringing in her head.
It was extremely odd that he didn’t have the jacket ready for her and that he was trying to lure her into his basement. At that point, she started texting about the situation with her mom, who was waiting in the car. She told him she would not be going into the basement and asked why he couldn’t just go down there himself.
Finally, he reached in the doorway, grabbed the jacket, and handed it to her. Ali instantly got chills, and her legs turned to jelly when she realized the jacket was only a few steps away. Then, he suggested that there might be something else she wanted in the basement.
She politely declined and walked away with the jacket, her heart pounding furiously. Later, she told a male friend about what had happened, but he just presumed that the guy had some other stuff he wanted to sell her.
Do you think that Ali narrowly escaped death that day, or was the guy simply trying to sell more items?
@coffeetillvodka Women, was i justified in feeling scared? Men don’t realize that these are the thoughts going through women’s heads all the time. Contsantly being on our toes just in case.
