Yesterday, this woman picked up her son from school, and when they arrived home, she saw that her husband, Zach, was wincing in pain.

He told her that while he was working at his desk, he turned his body to this side while still sitting in order to grab something, and as he did so, he felt a horrible shooting pain all of a sudden.

She advised that he call a doctor or chiropractor right away, and he said that he would consider that idea as he walked upstairs.

In the meantime, she cooked dinner and took care of their son. Later, her husband walked downstairs and asked if she could help him apply some cream for pain relief, and she helped him with that.

Eventually, Zach began to pace around, thinking out loud about what could be going on.

He said that it was possible that it wasn’t muscle pain and maybe it was related to something going wrong with his kidney.

In response, she pointed out that his kidney was located higher up from where the pain was coming from.

When she pressed on the spot where his kidney was and asked him if it hurt, he said it didn’t. However, he continued discussing the idea that the pain was kidney-related.

“I took a deep breath and explained, ‘Are you blinded with pain? Do you have the chills? Do you feel like you cannot sit, stand, or move and urgently need medical help? Because that’s a kidney issue. I would know. I’ve had multiple kidney infections and kidney stones,'” she said.

Zach said that he wasn’t experiencing any of these symptoms, and she sat at the table to eat dinner. Before dinner, she had asked if he wanted to sit in bed to eat and she could bring him a bowl of food, but he rejected her offer.

As Zach was trying to serve himself dinner, he was crying out because of the pain. Finally, he looked over at her and told her that she needed to take him to the emergency room.

When she heard this, she felt an emotional shift within her. She gave him a blank look and told him that she wouldn’t drive him. Zach then asked her why not.

“Because when I’ve had kidney issues, I’ve driven myself because he was too busy to help me/didn’t take me seriously,” she explained.

He reminded her that he did, in fact, drive her to the emergency room on one occasion, but she didn’t think this was a brag because the only reason he agreed to take her was because the was so severe that he had to carry her to the car when she was no longer able to move.

As their argument progressed, she said that she would take him as long as she was allowed to whine about him making too much noise as he opened his pain medicine bottles in the morning while she was trying to sleep.

She told Zach this because this was what he did after the only time he’d driven her to the emergency room.

Unfortunately, this has been an ongoing problem throughout their marriage, and whenever she has been horribly ill or experiencing immense pain, and she has always had to drive herself to the emergency room because Zach never took her pain or health seriously.

“I’ve bawled and screamed to him about how scared I am that one day, I will be too ill or injured to help myself, and he will not help me, and that in this specific way, my trust is broken. That I am very angry, and the anger comes from fear, and it’s something I can’t seem to let go,” she shared.

Even though Zach has repeatedly told her he was sorry, his behavior never changes, and the problem has never been resolved.

Despite the resentment she feels, she believes that their marriage is healthy and doesn’t think they should get divorced due to their issues.

They have been married for a decade, and she thinks that outside of this situation, they are mature adults and communicate effectively.

In the end, Zach drove himself to the emergency room.

Do you think she did the right thing?
