It also seems as though her parents give preferential treatment to her younger sister, who is 24, and her sister’s boyfriend.
Both her sister and her sister’s boyfriend have been living with her parents rent-free and not working jobs for years now.
So, she believes that her parents have never stopped coddling her sister, and now, they’re doing the same thing for her sister’s boyfriend.
That’s why, for years, she has tried to figure out how to accept the fact that her parents love her less than her sister.
However, now that it’s not just affecting her but also visibly impacting how her husband is treated by her parents, it’s making her infuriated.
So, she finally decided to stand up for both herself and her husband, sending her parents a carefully thought-out text message.
“I’m hurt about the lack of effort that was put into my husband’s gift for his birthday. Everything we do for you guys, he’s equally as invested in as I am. Then, he just gets left as an afterthought. Just really sad and hurtful how differently we are treated,” she wrote in her text.
Well, to her surprise, her parents actually just left her on “read” and haven’t even bothered to respond to her message.
And now, she’s been left wondering if confronting her parents about the clear lack of effort on her husband’s gift was really the wrong thing to do.
