He Got Upset When His Girlfriend Complained About Him Eating Like A Toddler

When people judge you for your eating habits, it can be really disheartening. At the end of the day, as long as you’re eating something throughout the day, you’re doing alright.
One man recently became upset when his girlfriend accused him of eating like a toddler because he eats his meals in a specific way.
He’s 22-years-old and eats his food in a peculiar way as he doesn’t like the foods on his plate to touch. If he can, he’ll eat his meal in segments so that nothing touches.
For instance, if he was being served some chicken and rice, he’d put the chicken on his plate first, eat it, then put the rice on his plate and eat it.
He tries his best not to let his eating habits get in the way of his social life and does what he can to not inconvenience anyone.
“In restaurants, I just deal with it and try to push the food apart as much as possible,” he explained.
“My mom never liked this and always scolded me for it, but after I moved out, it wasn’t ever an issue again.”
He has a 24-year-old girlfriend with whom he doesn’t share many meals because of their different schedules.
However, while they were eating dinner a few weeks ago, she noticed how he was eating and got annoyed.

His girlfriend began insulting him and wondering why he would eat things separately instead of eating the same things as her. Then, she said something that really bothered him.
“We were eating dinner, and she complained that I’m eating like a toddler,” he recalled.
“I didn’t exactly respond and just went on with my meal. That kind [of] hurt me, so I asked her why it’s an issue because it doesn’t affect her at all, and it’s easier for me to eat this way.”
“Now she keeps making comments about me being a ‘man-baby,’ and I’m [wondering if] I should just be less difficult [and] pull it together.”
Should he try to force himself to eat differently, or was his girlfriend being rude?
