Her Boyfriend Is Angry After Finding Out She Paid For Her House And College Degree With Money She Won
Can you imagine winning a lottery or being awarded money and then having people judge you for it?
One woman recently revealed to her boyfriend that she won some money over a decade ago, and it’s why she owns her home and was able to get her through school. Instead of being impressed, her boyfriend was angry.
She and her boyfriend are both 35. They recently decided to sit down and talk about their finances, as he moved in with her unexpectedly after his landlord decided to move back into his property.
She owns her own home, so her boyfriend wanted to learn more about how she became so financially stable.
She explained to her boyfriend that she had won some money in 2009. While it wasn’t a humongous amount, it was enough to put her through nursing school and purchase her home with some savings left.
Now, she works as a nurse, owns her home and car, and has decent savings. Her boyfriend then became upset and surprisingly told her she had fooled him.
“He says I deceived him by giving him the impression that I was financially well-off and that I led him to believe I was more business savvy than I was,” she recalled.
“I don’t know how I did that.”
Then, her boyfriend told her he couldn’t trust her or take financial advice from her anymore. This confused her, as she never gave him financial advice in the first place.

Somehow, her boyfriend believes that because she didn’t earn the money that bought her home and got her through school, it’s like she’s living inauthentically.
However, despite having won some money, she now makes a decent living with her job and is more financially stable than other people in her life, including him.
A few days later, when her boyfriend found out just how much money she had in her savings, he had a change of heart and suddenly started mentioning how he really wanted a new car for his birthday.
“He thinks he’s so clever, but I am thoroughly disgusted,” she said.
“It is absolutely over between us.”
