She Doesn’t Want To Go To Her Ex-Boyfriend’s Birthday Party Because He Developed Feelings For Another Girl And Left Her, But Her Best Friend Keeps Saying He Didn’t Do Anything Wrong

She really doesn’t have any interest in attending, either. However, her best friend keeps pressuring her to go and claiming that her ex “didn’t do anything wrong.” To her, though, the situation feels completely different.

“I feel like people are asking me to thank him for not cheating on me,” she vented.

She also cannot understand how her ex thought that leaving her was the best solution. For instance, she compared her relationship to a marriage and alluded to how not all spouses just get divorced when they realize they’re developing feelings for someone else.

“Why didn’t he just distance himself from that woman instead of just accepting his feelings for her? What if he starts to like someone else a few years after dating her? Is he just going to leave her then? Where does it end?” she asked.

But, while she may never get an answer to these totally valid questions, she currently has one issue to tackle: she really doesn’t want to go to her ex-boyfriend’s birthday party, and she’s unsure if that makes her a jerk or not.

Do you agree with her stance on working through conflicting feelings instead of just leaving a current relationship? Can you understand why she wanted to get some space to process the breakup? Would you go to the birthday party or not?
