A week ago, this young woman told her boyfriend that she was planning on making him an elaborate three-course Valentine’s Day dinner on February 13th.

As for why she told him a week early, she wanted to make sure he didn’t forget about it, as he has a tendency to do that.

Not only is her boyfriend awful at keeping time, but he also likes to ditch her when they have very important plans so he can spend time with his family instead.

On many occasions, her boyfriend has left her to wait around for him, which she isn’t a fan of.

Anyway, she came up with a menu based on Italian cuisine to cook for her special dinner, and she was going to make it all from scratch.

She went out and bought all of the groceries she needed in advance, but then her boyfriend wound up eating some of the things she needed to make her special dinner.

So, she told her boyfriend it was his responsibility to go to the grocery store and replace the ingredients she needed to make dinner tonight.

Then her boyfriend said he already made plans with his family this evening, and she mentioned that if he could grab the groceries and drop them off, she wouldn’t have a problem with him spending time with his family before their special dinner.

That way, she knew she could get a head start on her cooking, and their night wouldn’t be ruined at all.

“He went to see his family, picked up the groceries and THEN went to go see his grandparents too, leaving the groceries in the car,” she explained.

“He expects me to still make the meal when he finally gets back home – it’s nearly 8 pm at night. By the time I finish, it will be 10 pm.”

“I get he wanted to see his family – but of all the days. He could have [gone] any other day. I decided I’m not cooking it tonight, and he is insisting it’s fine and we can still have it, but honestly, I’m just too annoyed.”

It’s also lost on her boyfriend that it takes a long time for her to put together this kind of meal, as he has no clue how labor-intensive it really is to whip up multiple courses.

She’s left wondering if it’s wrong of her to no longer want to make a three-course Valentine’s Day dinner for her boyfriend after he ditched her for his family.
