She’s A Flight Attendant Who Rescued Six Rare Flamingo Eggs, And She’s Now Being Applauded As A Hero

The recently hatched chicks were fluffy and gray in color. In a news release, the zoo noted that the flamingoes would eventually take on their iconic pink hue as they entered adulthood.

One of the six flamingoes was named Sunny, after Amber’s granddaughter, as a way for the zoo to show their appreciation for Amber’s heroic act.

A public poll was taken to determine the names of the rest of the chicks. The results were Magdalena, Amaya, Rosales, Gonzo, and Bernardo.

Soon, the chicks will become a part of the zoo’s ambassador animals program, which helps raise awareness of ways to support wildlife conservation.
