The doctors worked through the night, and Dr. Goldstone completed Mia’s heart transplant at 3:00 am, and Brooklyn’s procedure was finished around 5:00 am.
The domino transplant was a success and made incredible history at the New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. The two babies were discharged and recovered about two weeks after receiving their life-saving surgeries.
Mia and Brooklyn’s families have come together several times so the girls could meet and play, as they now share a bond that will last forever. The talented and hardworking staff that made these procedures possible expect the girls to make a full recovery.
Congratulations to both families and the New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital staff!
