This 30-year-old woman and her husband, Josh, 32, have been married for six years. They have a 4-year-old daughter and 9-month-old son. Josh has been friends with a woman named Amy since the two of them were kids.

She and Amy are usually cordial with each other, but Amy sometimes makes rude remarks. Since Josh is introverted and doesn’t have a large group of friends, she hasn’t confronted Amy. She doesn’t want to cause tension in Josh and Amy’s friendship.

Several days ago, she and Josh had a dinner party at their house, and they invited Amy. Everyone was drinking, and Amy began making insensitive comments.

She stated how stunned she was that Josh had two children while all of their other friends were still single, adding that it was especially shocking since Josh used to tell all his friends that his plan was not to get married before he was 30.

“Things got a bit awkward, but she went on to say how I wasn’t even his type, and still, we got married,” she said.

Understandably, she was angry about Amy’s comments, but Josh tried to get her to settle down, reminding her that Amy was intoxicated, so he asked her not to take the comments too seriously.

Later, their son began to cry, so she got up to get him some formula (she’d been physically unable to feed him, so she turned to formula).

After Amy noticed that she was feeding her son formula, she said she would never give her child formula if she became a mother.

Amy continued that they were insane for allowing their child to have formula because, according to her, there were potentially unhealthy ingredients in it.

At this point, she couldn’t handle Amy’s offensive and unwarranted comments anymore, so she snapped.

“I told her to shut up and mind her own business, that this was my house, my husband, and my baby, and she is in no way eligible to talk about someone else’s married life when she couldn’t even keep a man in her life and is now living alone with her cats,” she explained.

Amy burst into tears and walked out a few minutes later. The rest of their dinner guests also left a bit after Amy did.

Once they were alone, Josh told her that he understood why she was mad, but he thought she went too far since everybody was aware that Amy was having a tough time with her mental health.

“She is apparently in a bad mental state since she was also cheated on by her fiancĂ© of many years in the past,” she shared.

Since the argument, several of Amy’s friends texted her, cussing her out and requesting she tell Amy she was sorry.

She blocked all of these people, and she isn’t thrilled about the idea of apologizing because Amy has been insensitive on several occasions.

Amy’s most recent comments put her over the edge, and she couldn’t handle it any longer. Upon reflection, she’s begun feeling guilty and wondering if she’d gone too far.

What advice would you give her?
