She Vanished In January After Leaving Her Apartment To Meet Up With A Friend And Telling Her Boyfriend She Would Be Back Later

“He was playing his video game and she got up and said she was going to leave and that her friend was there to get her and she’d be back later. She left, and he didn’t see who picked her up,” Jade explained.

Upon realizing that no one had heard from Jemini in a few days, her family quickly began reaching out to her friends. They tried to figure out if she’d been hanging out with anyone else, but none of Jemini’s friends had seen her. This was extremely concerning for Jade, who claimed that her sister was not the kind of person to just vanish out of nowhere.

“She wouldn’t just up and leave. She’s never left Amani like that. She would have called,” Jade said.

Nonetheless, one more day passed, and Jemini still did not get in touch with her loved ones. So, on January 11, her mother contacted authorities and reported her missing.

Since then, an investigation has been launched, but the FBI has declined to comment on any progress made on Jemini’s case. But, both community members and authorities have been contributing to the search effort– both on and off the Spirit Lake Dakota Reservation.

Unfortunately, no signs of Jemini’s whereabouts have been uncovered, and Jade has been left reeling as the search for answers continues.

“I have so many scenarios in my head just thinking, ‘What could have happened?’ Was she with a friend? Was she drinking? Did she wander off somewhere? Did she freeze?” Jade wondered.

Until more answers come to light, though, Jemini’s family is holding onto hope, and her baby, Amani, is being cared for by her mother’s family.

“We have her little girl, and she’s okay. We just want her home now. She can come home, and we’ll be here,” Jade said.

Jemini is five foot seven, weighs 120 pounds, and has blonde hair and hazel eyes. She also has an infinity sign tattooed on her right ankle, as well as the Roman numerals “I-XIII-MMXX” tattooed on her right collarbone.

If you have any information regarding her disappearance or whereabouts, you are urged to contact the Devil’s Lake Police Department at (701) 662-0700 or the FBI tip line at (800) 225-5324.
