If you want to try the trend out for yourself, incorporate pops of red through a set of curtains, a light fixture, a rug, a blanket, picture frames, or a bouquet of fresh flowers. You can even paint the trim of a doorway red.
Take note of the colors in your space to determine what shades of red will fit in. For instance, a vivid, intense red may look out of place in a room with muted tones, like grays, off-whites, and light blue-greens.
However, a rusty red could be the perfect accent. You might have to play around a bit to figure out what will blend seamlessly into your space.
